Over the last twenty five years Richard Pite has
established himself as one of the country's leading exponents
of vintage jazz drumming. His style is steeped in the playing
of such masters as Papa Jo Jones, Big Sid Catlett, Gene Krupa,
Buddy Rich and Cozy Cole The drummers of the 20s, 30s and 40s
very often employed a huge array of musical and visual tricks
that thrilled their audiences. These routines (very rarely seen
today) have been adapted by Richard to provide the cornerstone
of his show.

Richard is also an accomplished sousaphone player
and this extraordinarily striking instrument is put to good comic
use with juggling balls, a piccolo, modern technology and some
racy dance routines too.

The show also features the musical saw, harmonica,
stylophone, zydeco tie (!), theramin, bok a de bok cymbals (!!),
tap dancing, sand dancing, the amazing ready-to-wear drum coat
(!!!) and probably the worst Elvis Presley impersonation you're
ever likely to see (!!!!).

Syncopated Paraphernalia can be anything from
a ten minute spot through to a 90 minute show. Richard can perform
solo (with backing tracks), with piano accompaniment or any number
of musicians up to a sextet.
